Interprofessional working in early detection of breast cancer
In the first learning module the diagnostic breast cancer process is dealt with from global, national and international viewpoints and breast cancer epidemiological issues are considered. The roles and tasks of different health professionals are described and the importance of interprofessional cooperation in the care and service chain is covered. The issues related to communication and psychosocial issues related to breast cancer are highlighted.

Objective: To provide the learner an overview of different health professionals’ roles and tasks and their interprofessional cooperation in early breast cancer detection.

- Learning materials 1 - 2 will introduce you the basics of breast cancer epidemiology, aetiology and the diagnostic process.
- Learning materials 3 and 4 will give you an overview about different health care professionals` roles in the diagnostic service chain of breast cancer.
- Learning material 5 will introduce you the issues of patient communication and psychosocial aspects of the diagnostic phase of breast cancer.
- Learning material 6 will give you an overview of breast cancer awareness.
- Learning material 7 will give you an overview of the midwives’ role in early breast cancer detection.
